About Us:
Who is shoearchives.com?
In 2002, our online store opened for business. Our goal was to sell only the finest mens shoes available on the market. We chose to be specific in selling only mens shoes and only very high end brands of mens shoes. As a benefit from staying so specific, we have learned much in the evolution of the finest handcrafted footwear which has been produced over the past 30 or so years. As well as staying up with current models, we contracted with some companies and were able to get our hands on some models dating back multiple decades. Blessed with such an abundance of information, we felt it our obligation to share what information we had available to us with anyone who might find it useful or interesting. During the last 8 years, we have carried the following brands: Salvotore Ferragamo, Prada, Gucci, Bruno Magli, Moreschi, Allen Edmonds, Amedeo Testoni, Esquivel, Ermenegildo Zegna, Romano Martegani, Cole Haan (Bragano and Collection lines), Alden, Davanzati, Bally, Faconnable, Foti, Hugo Boss, Mezlan, To Boot New York, Tods, Versace, and Zelli. Our goal is to present you with information on the many models produced by these brands throughout each company's history. You will be able to view high quality photos, find their names, their values when new, learn the lines they came from, and also find detailed information about each shoes consturction.
Where did the idea come from?
Quite often we found customers coming back and asking us for information on older models. An example of an email we recieved more than once: "Can you remind me the name of this pair I bought from you so I can see if I can find another one online somewhere?" We can't blame them either. It is almost impossible to find a certain shoe from a previous season anywhere online if you don't remember its name or have a site to reference what you are looking for. We are glad to see it has helped so many out there. We have received numerous thanks as it has become a frequently used reference for Ebay buyers and sellers.
Where is shoearchives.com headed?
Quite a simple goal really.... to be the world's largest online musuem of mens high end shoes. To give you more of an idea, the site as it is now, is less than 1 percent complete. That percentage is based on just the information we have in our database that is not uploaded yet. That does not account for our goal to also stay up on current models.

What can I do to help?
Thanks for asking. There is so much you can do to help the museum:
1) Share your experiences about different models. There are comment boards up on some of the models in the archive. If you have worn one of them, please let others know how you liked it. If you have not worn that pair, still chime in on what you think about it. Eventually, every pair archived will have a unique page dedicated to it with comment boards open for discussion.
2) Shortly we will have a special archive where we will be requesting the worlds help finding lost model names. In our shipments, there were occasions where boxes were not included. For these models, we will be hoping that someone out there in the world still has a box and can provide us the model name. Once this area is up, please check it out often and help us find these lost names. We will frequently add more that we need help on.
3) Financial support/donations are great in helping cover hosting fees and time spent to upload the information. If you can't, that is ok too, enjoy the musuem anyway!
4) As noted above, we also accept picture donations if they are taken in a format simliar to our pictures which are archived (credit will be given above).
5) We lease adspace for low monthly rates to help cover the cost of running shoearchives.com. If you have a company that sells items similar to what we have in our museum or sell an item or service that may be useful to our traffic (generally higher income men ages 25 - 55) check out our sponsor page.
